SAR–Your Topics

For this post you should bring up something from your reading that you found interesting, that you didn’t understand, or that you found disturbing.  You shouldrespond to each othe’s ideas to create a DIALOGUE.

Comment on your author’s style.  What patterns in diction and structure do you see throughout the novel (not just a pattern that appears through one paragraph)?  How does his/her style affect your reading of the novel?  How does it compare to other works you have read that were published in different literary periods?

Which character is the most interesting in your novel?  What makes him/her/it so intriguing?  How would the novel change if this character was absent or largely altered?

What is the first sentence of your book?  What impression did it leave you with?  Did that impression prove to be true as you continued past the first line?  What did the line tell you about the author’s style/diction/etc?  Be sure to include the title and author of your book since we are all reading different things!
